Convey Health is a project done while working with Gensler.
Convey’s new flexible and efficient workplace builds a strong office culture, embodies their position as a leader in med-tech, and acts as a recruitment magnet in South Florida’s competitive market.
As if stepping into a coding script, an overhead back-lit panel inspired by Convey’s logo draws employees and guests in through the space on each floor. Work and meeting spaces are distinguished by shifts in lighting and flooring; the direction of the lights on the ceilings alternate from 45 to 90 degrees, and the color of the flooring alternates between gray and blue pulling in colors from Fort Lauderdale’s waterways and the company’s branding. Reflecting the start-up mentality and cost consciousness of the project, architectural elements such as the white-painted exposed ceilings are purposely left unfinished to parallel Convey’s culture of transparency and visibility.
As part of the team, my role was to be part of the design and conceptualization, and the develop ment of the construction documentation and perrmit set. Additionally I was responsible for the design of the ceiling structure in the elevator lobby and the Virtual Reality presentation to the client.
