Mercado Havana is a Bodega located in the center of Coral Gables. The two-story building has a program that includes spaces to sell wine, cheese, and cigars. Additionally, it includes outdoor spaces, private rooms, wine tasting, and a cigar lounge. The scope of work included the design of the interiors, facade, and branding.
The concept is inspired by the Cuban culture and its traditions. The openness in the facade invites you to venture into space, like a typical Cuban house where the owners always say “mi casa es tu casa” as an intention to share their home with you.
The design intent aims to create a place where the older generation of Cubans meets with the younger generation. A place to showcase and tell the story of the Cuban Diaspora. “A home away from home.”
